Community Development and Block Grant Program

The Community Development and Planning Office is responsible for administering Community Development Block Grant funds in the city limits. The City of Bristol is classified as an "entitlement" city by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Based upon this classification, the City receives an annual allocation of funds to be used for the elderly, children, and low-to-moderate income persons in the City. On an annual basis, this office receives requests for funding from area agencies and organizations. These requests are reviewed for eligibility and then referred to City Council for fund allocation.
