Bulk Trash Collection
What
Bulk materials are generally too large to be placed in conventional roll-out containers, such as a sofa, mattress, indoor/outdoor furniture, certain appliances, carpeting, etc. Remodeling debris, minor amounts in nature, may be picked up as long as the sanitation fee on the utility bill is being collected for said residents. Under no circumstance shall debris be picked up from any resident or commercial properties where demolition of buildings, major remodels, or decks that are being removed or rebuilt. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor or property owner to dispose of these materials. Tube televisions, tires, and any items with refrigerant are not accepted and will not be collected. If you have any questions regarding acceptability, please contact 276-645-7380.
When
Bulk materials are collected on the same day as containerized waste, as time allows. Materials may be placed at curbside no earlier than noon on the day preceding the regularly scheduled collection date, but must be placed prior to 6:30 a.m. of collection day. On occasion, bulk item collections cannot be completed on the same day. In those instances, collection will be completed as quickly as possible.
Where
All bulk materials shall be placed at the curb. Do not place where obstacles may hinder collection of such materials. Avoid placing under overhead power lines.
