Rates for Collections
Residential Units:
$33.00/month for the first container payable with utility bill.
$16.50/month for the second container payable with the utility bill.
Includes container, bulk wood, brush, bulk waste, and yard clippings.
Residents of the City can bring waste to the landfill for a discounted rate by showing proof of residency with their drivers license or current utility bill.
Exemption for elderly and disabled persons:
Discounted rate of $11.00/month for approved applicants through the Commissioner of Revenue Tax Relief Program. Citizens who are either 65 or older, or permanently and completely disabled, and meet the income and asset eligibility requirements can apply annually for the program through the Commissioner of Revenue's Office.
Non-residential and non-individually electric metered multiple unit residential:
Charged Quarterly.
95 gallon containers: $120.00 first container, $60.00 each additional container*
300 gallon containers: $240.00 first container, $120.00 each additional container*
Limited to not more than four containers. Additional pick up per week, half the fee.
*Rates based on one collection per week.
Eleemosynary Institutions:
Charged Quarterly.
95 gallon containers: $96.00 first container, $48.00 each additional container*
300 gallon containers:$192.00 first container, $96.00 each additional container*
Limited to not more than four containers and up to two collections per week. Additional pick up per week, half the fee.
*Rates based on one collection per week.
Responsibility of the institution to apply for and provide the necessary information to qualify for this category.
Bulk wood, brush, or bulk waste collection for multi-family, non-residential, and eleemosynary locations:
Upon request, the City may provide special collection services to City-served establishments. A deposit in the amount of $86.15 for bulk wood and waste, a single service load plus a one ton disposal fee, is required prior to any collection ($50.00 per collection service plus disposal fees at gate rate $36.15). A deposit in the amount of $105.22 for bulk brush, a single service load plus a one ton disposal fee, is required prior to any collection ($50.00 per collection service plus disposal fees at gate rate $55.22). Service requiring more than a single load shall be considered as separate services for each load, and charged accordingly.
Excess brush or waste collection for City-served single and two-family attached and detached residence, condominiums, townhouses, and any other residential unit where electric services is individually metered:
The City retains the right to refuse to collect waste from residences where the volume exceeds the limits established. Upon the request of the owner or resident, the City may provide special collection services to the residence.
